RCFC (SR), in collaboration with VERVE FPO, Khammam, organized a one-day programme on “Medicinal Plants Cultivation: Training and Capacity Building” under NMPB on 12.03.2026 at Khammam, with participation of around 65 farmers.

The programme focused on creating awareness on the economic potential of medicinal plants, promoting adoption as an income-generating activity, and providing technical guidance on cultivation practices of suitable medicinal plant species for the Khammam region, along with emphasis on sustainable use and conservation. Farmers were also sensitized on relevant legal frameworks, including biodiversity and forest regulations. Importantly, the programme facilitated direct interaction with traders and industry representatives, enabling discussions on buy-back agreements and ensuring assured market linkages for medicinal plant produce.
